چکیده
The paper aims to explore, theoretically and empirically, the creation of orgnizational knowledge in the virtual context, in which geographically dispersed individuals communicate through Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs). The paper brings together the writings of Vygotsky, Bakhtin, Schön and Goffman to argue that knowledge creation involves the continuous effort of individuals to understand themselves through external and internal dialogues they have, with real and imaginal others and with artifacts, within various front and back regions of interaction, in a way not easily done in a face-to-face context. We empirically explore the process by conducting discourse analysis on a virtual setting, based on the discursive practices of

متن کاملA knowledge-based NSGA-II approach for scheduling in virtual manufacturing cells
This paper considers the job scheduling problem in virtual manufacturing cells (VMCs) with the goal of minimizing two objectives namely, makespan and total travelling distance. To solve this problem two algorithms are proposed: traditional non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm (NSGA-II) and knowledge-based non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm (KBNSGA-II). The difference between these algor...

متن کاملKnowledge Creation in Virtual Teams
The paper aims to contribute to a better understanding of knowledge creation in a context not researched extensively so far, the virtual context. Claiming that knowledge is connected to the context in which is created, the paper argues that knowledge creation could be differentiated by the specific characteristics of virtuality. The process of knowledge creation is conceptualised using a theore...
